Maintenance of Fire Doors

Maintenance of Fire Doors

We are often asked by our clients to help them with improvements requested following a Fire Risk Assessment (FRA). A number of required actions are often in relation to the compliance of fire doors.

In order to ensure competency as required by the regulations, SPA send their staff on BRE-DHF Fire Door Education Programme (Timber Fire Door and Installation, Repair and Maintenance Training) to ensure that we are fully conversant with:

– the regulations and standards that apply

– different types of Fire Doors

– the importance of correct installation

– the significance of key components on a fire door’s performance

– the importance of regular repair and maintenance schedules.

This helps us to work with our clients to ensure that.

– the work carried out maintains the certification of the fire door

– the building owner is not wasting their investment i.e carrying out ‘improvements’ that don’t actually have the desired effect of maintaining fire security and complying with regulations and having to repeat work in order to do that.

If you would like to discuss the results of your FRA or fire doors generally please do give us a call and we’d be happy to help.
